My dear friend Stephanie Goodie recently discovered she has breast cancer. This is a disease that has impacted many peoples lives. My run from Oakland to Portland is a unique way of raising money for a unique individual as well as increasing awareness of this cancer. Please join me with your support.

The John Muir Elementary Outdoor School is a fifth grade capstone program of the K-5 lessons offered through the school's cooking and garden program. Students spend four days at the Clem Miller Environmental Center in Pt. Reyes National Seashore, where they explore and experience the links between food, health, culture and the environment. John Muir is the smallest school in the Berkeley public system and serves students largely from the South Berkeley neighborhood. Over 50% of the student body is on the free and reduced meal program. I run in effort to support this program and the educational opportunity it provides to the kids.
